At approximately 12:55 P.M. Dunlap Police Officers responded to Save-A-Lot on HWY 111 in Dunlap, on a dog bite complaint. Upon arrival officers learned that a 14 year old juvenile female subject was bitten by a dog. The female was bitten on the left arm and right hand as she attempted to pet the dog.
Sequatchie County EMS personnel provided initial medical treatment to the juvenile and then transported her to North Valley Medical Center.
The owner of the dog, Ashley M Grayson, 23 years of age of Dunlap, was issued a citation for allowing the dog to run at large. She is scheduled to appear in Dunlap Municipal Court on February 25th, 2010. Officers investigating the incident were Dunlap Police Patrolman Mark Fyfe and Detective Keith Herron

ARRESTS

At approximately 4:00 P.M. Dunlap Police Officers responded to No Guts No Glory Tattoo Shop, on Rankin Ave. in Dunlap, on a possible shoplifter complaint. Upon arrival officers learned that a female subject may have stolen a t-shirt at the business. Officers spoke with the female subject and discovered the stolen t-shirt in her purse. The t-shirt was valued at $15.00.
The female subject, Kristin Johnson, 19 years of age of Dunlap, was arrested for theft under $500.00 and transported to the Sequatchie County Justice Center. She is scheduled to appear in Dunlap Municipal Court on January 28th, 2010. Officers investigating the incident were Dunlap Police Patrolmen Kevin Snyder, Robert Raber and Sergeant Randy Phillips.

ARRESTS

Following an investigation of several vehicle burglaries and a residential burglary, Dunlap Police Detectives arrested Bridgette L Akins, 27 years of age of Dunlap. Akins was linked to five vehicle burglaries and one residential burglary. The burglaries occurred between December 9th, 2009 and January 13, 2010 at several different locations in Dunlap.
Officers searched the residence of Akins and many of the stolen items were recovered and later returned to the owners. During an interview, Akins confessed to committing the burglaries.
Following the interview, Akins was arrested and transported to the Sequatchie County Justice Center. She was charged with aggravated burglary, five counts of burglary of a vehicle, two counts of theft over $500.00 and four counts of theft under $500.00. Akins is currently being held under $20,000.00 bond and is scheduled to appear in Dunlap Municipal Court on January 28, 2010.
