Dunlap Police Incidents
WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 14TH – SEPTEMBER 20TH, 2009
ARRESTS
Sunday, September 20th, 2009
At approximately 12:10 A.M. Dunlap Police Officer Robert Raber observed a vehicle traveling north in an erratic manner on Hwy 127 in Dunlap. After stopping the vehicle , the Officer had the driver perform field sobriety tests . Upon completing the tests the driver was arrested for D.U.I.
The driver was a 17 year old male from Dunlap and Sequatchie County Juvenile Officer Kim Dean was notified. The juvenile was later released to his sister and is scheduled to appear in Sequatchie County Juvenile Court on October 14th, 2009.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Friday, September 18th, 2009
At approximately 6:45 A.M. Dunlap Police Officers were dispatched to 9 Mountain View Circle in Dunlap in reference to a theft from a vehicle. Upon arrival it was reported that unknown persons had stolen a Pioneer Super Tuner CD, MP3 player, valued at $175.00 , from a vehicle . It was also reported that a Sony CD , MP3 player , valued at $150.00 , was stolen from another vehicle parked at the same residence . The vehicles were not locked .
At approximately 12:34 P.M. Dunlap Police Officers were dispatched to 149 Court Loop in Dunlap in reference to a theft from a vehicle. Upon arrival it was reported that unknown persons had attempted to steal the CD player from a vehicle. The CD player was not taken, however the CD player face plate was stolen. The vehicle , a Nissan Pathfinder was not locked. The reporting party estimated the theft took place during the night of September 17th. The stolen CD player face plate was estimated at a value of $50.00.
Saturday , September 5th , 2009
At approximately 10:55 P.M. Dunlap Police officer Stephen Billingsly observed a vehicle traveling in an erratic manner on Hwy 127 North in Dunlap Tennessee . After stopping the vehicle , the Officer had the driver perform field sobriety tests . Upon completing the tests the driver was arrested for 2nd Offense D.U.I. and was transported to the Sequatchie County Justice Center . The driver was also charged with Open Container , Suspended Drivers License , No Liability Insurance and Registration Violation .
Arrested was Mitchell Lee Harryman Jr, 27 years of age , of Dunlap . Officers also seized the vehicle being operated by Harryman due to the arrest being his 2nd offense. Harryman is scheduled to appear in Dunlap Municipal Court on November 10th , 2009 .
Monday, August 17th, 2009
At approximately 3:08 P.M. Officers of the Dunlap Police Department responded to a report of an intoxicated person leaving the Kangaroo Convenience Store . Dunlap Police Chief Clint Huth observed the vehicle traveling in an erratic manner on Hwy 111. After stopping the vehicle, the driver was found to be under the influence of an intoxicant and was arrested for 2nd Offense D.U.I. Sequatchie County Sheriffs Department Deputies Paul Howard and Chris Dennis assisted in the incident .
Arrested was Terry Grant, 47 years of age , of Chattanooga . Grant is scheduled to appear in Sequatchie County General Sessions Court on October 14th, 2009 .
Sunday, August 23rd, 2009
At approximately 10:44 P.M. Officers of the Dunlap Police Department responded to a report of a two car motor vehicle accident at the Kangaroo Convenience Store on Rankin Ave. North in Dunlap. Upon arrival Officers discovered that Jeff A. Roberts, 39 years of age of Pikeville, was driving a 1993 Honda Accord and struck a truck belonging to James A. Shelton of Graysville. The accident occurred in the parking lot of the convenience store.
Officers suspected Roberts to be under the influence of an intoxicant and after performing field sobriety tests, Roberts was arrested for D.U.I. and transported to the Sequatchie County Justice Center .
The investigating Officer in the incident was Dunlap Police Patrolman Steven Billingsley. Roberts is scheduled to appear in Dunlap Municipal Court on September 24th, 2009.
