This isn’t exactly news but it is a caution. The new stop signs where Main Street and Cates Street in Dunlap intersect is causing some problems. I watched the intersection for a few minutes and the people driving on Main Street seemed oblivious to the signs. They are clearly marked it is just that people are used to the signs not being there and after a lifetime of traveling down Main Street you miss the signs. It is a trick of the human mind and works like a magic trick. The mind fills in what the eyes miss. About 1/3 are missing the signs and I doubt they realize the signs are there. I don’t think this will cause an accident but the potential is there. Be careful when turning onto Main Street from Cates street. The drivers on main Street may or may not realize the signs are there.
