NASHVILLE, TN – A Lauderdale County woman has been charged with TennCare fraud for selling prescription drugs.
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) today announced the arrest of Anita Louise Williams, 59, of Halls, with the assistance of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest was the result of a joint investigation with the Dyersburg Police Department.
Williams is charged with TennCare fraud, with an indictment accusing her of filling a prescription for the painkiller Morphine, using TennCare to pay for the drugs, while planning to sell at least a portion of the drugs.
“Law enforcement officers across the state are working with us to catch people committing drug fraud and using TennCare to subsidize the crime,” Inspector General Deborah Y. Faulkner said. “Communities want prescription drugs off the streets, and we’re targeting the use of TennCare in drug fraud crimes.”
TennCare fraud is a Class E felony, carrying a sentence of up to two years in prison per charge. District Attorney General D. Michael Dunavant is prosecuting.

NASHVILLE, TN – A Morristown man is charged for the second time with TennCare fraud related to selling prescription drugs paid for by the TennCare program.
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) today announced the arrest of Jason M. Smith, 27. This and his previous arrest were the result of a joint effort with the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office. Smith is charged with one count of TennCare fraud for using TennCare to pay for a prescription of Suboxone, and later apparently selling a portion of the drugs. Suboxone is an opiate used to treat people with heroin addiction. Smith is currently being held in the Hamblen County Jail on related charges where he was served with the TennCare fraud charge.

NASHVILLE, TN – A Maury County woman is charged with TennCare fraud in connection with selling prescription drugs that were paid for with TennCare benefits.
The Office of Inspector General (OIG), assisted by the Maury County Sheriff’s Office, today announced the arrest of Stephanie L. Cates, 38, of Columbia. She is accused in an indictment of using TennCare to pay for a prescription for the strong painkiller Morphine, while intending to sell a portion of it.
NASHVILLE, TN – A Davidson County woman is charged in nearby Wilson County with TennCare fraud related to selling prescription drugs paid for by TennCare.
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) today announced the arrest of Amanda Jo Glasgow, 29, from Hermitage. The arrest is the result of a joint effort with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department.

NASHVILLE, TN – A Coffee County woman is charged with TennCare fraud in connection with using the program to obtain prescription drugs, which she apparently later sold.
The Office of Inspector General (OIG), with the assistance of the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and the Manchester Police Department, today announced the arrest of Lisa Diane Couch, 42, of Manchester.
Couch is charged in an indictment with presenting a pharmacy with a prescription for the painkiller Hydrocodone, using TennCare to pay for the prescription with the intention of selling a portion of the drugs.
